The days are longer and the weather is getting warmer so it’s inevitable that children and young people will spend more time outside either walking, cycling or as passengers in vehicles.
As Brake – the road safety charity explains – a child’s safety will always be a top priority for any parent or carer. Keeping children safe near roads is vital because road traffic injuries are the biggest cause of death among young people worldwide, and six children are killed or seriously injured on roads every day in the UK.
If you’re teaching your children about road safety or just want to give them some reminders, the Brake website has some great information for parents.
