Here are some photos from the recent VIP Day for our Guildford & Waverley ‘Junior Citizen’ event, which ran for 2 weeks from Monday, 16th June to Friday, 27th June 2025. The event included sessions from the following agencies: –
South East Coast Ambulance Service, Surrey Child and Family Health (School Nurses), Network Rail/ South Western Railway/ British Transport Police, Freedom Leisure and the Thames Basin Heaths Partnership.
Approximately 1,200 Year 6 pupils (10-11 Year Olds) from local primary schools across the two boroughs attended the Guildford Spectrum Freedom Leisure Complex, which was provided courtesy of Area Manager, Emma Beavis. These children took part in a series of interactive safety workshops which taught them some incredibly valuable lessons in a fun environment.
We were honoured to welcome guests, the High Sheriff of Surrey, Mr Peter Cluff and his wife, Suzanne Cluff; the Mayor of Guildford, Councillor Howard Smith; Lee Thomas, Regional Manager, Freedom Leisure; David Hollignsworth, ASB Officer, Waverley Borough Council; and Rosie Broadest, Senior External Communications Manager, BAE Systems Digital Intelligence.
The school in attendance on the day was Godalming Junior School and our on-site coordinator was Gary Perks.
This event would not have been possible without the kind support of Freedom Leisure and BAE Systems Digital Intelligence – thank you!
