Over 1500 primary school pupils across Salford will be given important safety advice over the next two weeks.

The ‘Crucial Crew’ events, coordinated by Child Safety Media, will take place at Haldane Barracks in Salford.

Pupils will be given lessons from a wide range of safety organisations including Greater Manchester Police, British Transport Police, RNLI, Salford Clinical Commissioning Group, Salix Homes, Urban Vision and Barclays.

They will be presented with a number of dangerous or challenging situations such as road hazards or house fire – and take part in role-play exercises to learn how to deal with the situation.

The ‘hands-on’ safety events teach young people about important issues that are often overlooked by the curriculum, including antisocial behaviour, travel safety and water safety.

The workshops run from 16th November to 4th December at the Haldane Barracks on Haldane Road.
