Lingfield Park Racecourse was the wonderful venue again for our Tandridge ‘Junior Citizen’
2026 Child Safety Event.  Approximately 600 Year 6 pupils (age 10-11) from 18 local primary
schools across the borough ‘raced’ through these fun-filled and thought-provoking series of
interactive safety workshops thanks to the kind support of Arena Racing
Company
 and Croudace Homes.

The event ran from Monday, 6th October to Monday, 13th October 2025, and the sessions
were presented by Children and Family Health Surrey (School Nurses), Network Rail &
GTR/Southern
, Barclays Bank, Freedom Leisure, British Transport Police and South
East Coast Ambulance Service
.

The ‘Junior Citizen scheme aims to teach children about important issues that are often
overlooked by the curriculum, such as personal safety, staying safe online and avoiding peer
pressure. water safety, (how to save a life whist keeping themselves safe) and best practices
should a water emergency occur, Keeping safe whilst traveling on the railways, the laws,
dangers and penalties of trespassing, safeguarding, health & wellbeing, the pros and cons of
gaming, spotting a request to launder money, being switched on to the scammers and first
aid (learning how to save a life; DRABC; basic life support – CPR; (recovery position).

Massive thanks to all who took part and made this event possible, striving to keep the
Tandridge children’s community safe and protected.
