Reporters, photographers and camera crews are invited to cover our South Manchester Crucial Crew VIP day.

When: Thursday 9th July, 11-12.30pm

Where: Manchester College, Wythenshawe Campus, Brownley Road, M22 9UE

What: Manchester’s Lord Mayor, Deputy Crime Commissioner and other VIPs will be attending the event to spectate the workshops and meet the children and organisation involved.

Over the next two weeks, hundreds of young people from across South Manchester will be given crucial advice on how to stay safe on topics such as drugs, alcohol, road and rail safety, crime and anti-social behaviour.

The South Manchester Crucial Crew events take place at Manchester College’s Wythenshawe Campus and on Thursday 9th July, the event will hold a VIP Day.

Attendees will include Manchester’s Lord Mayor, the Deputy Police & Crime Commissioner, representatives from the Greater Manchester High Sheriff’s Trust, Local Councillors, senior emergency service personnel and Board members from the College and Wythenshawe Community Housing Trust.

From 6th July to 17th July, pupils from schools across Withington, Didsbury, Northenden, Burnage, Baguley and Hale will be presented with a number of dangerous or challenging situations during the ‘hands on’ workshops on a range of topics often overlooked by the curriculum. Organisations taking part include Greater Manchester Police, British Transport Police, Wythenshawe Community Housing Group, Barclays, Stagecoach and Lifeline Eclypse.
