Here are some photos from our recent Epsom & Ewell and Mole Valley ‘Junior Citizen’ event – VIP Day which took place on Thursday, 14th March 2019. The event ran from the 4th – 15th March during which time over 1,300 Year 6 children (10-11 Year Olds) from local primary schools across the 2 boroughs took part in a series of interactive safety workshops which taught them some incredibly valuable lessons in a fun environment.

The event was held at Epsom Downs Race Course courtesy of Simon Durrant, General Manager of the Jockey Club supported by his colleague Guy Halliday and was sponsored by the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Surrey, Epsom & Ewell Borough Council and Mole Valley District Council.

Participating agencies were Surrey Police, RNLI, British Transport Police, Hope UK, The Eikon Charity, CSH Surrey (School Nurses), Surrey Fire and Rescue Service, and our on-site co-ordinators were Wendy Roberts and Brian Kingston.

Principal attendees were Cllr John Beckett, Deputy Mayor, Epsom & Ewell BC, Cllr Raj Haque, Chairman of Mole Valley DC,  Steve Owen-Hughes, Chief Fire Officer, Surrey Fire & Rescue Service.  The schools who attended the VIP Day were (morning session) – Leatherhead Trinity School and Kingswood House School (afternoon session) – St Peter’s Catholic Primary School and Riverview C of E Primary & Nursery School.
