This year’s Macclesfield Crucial Crew event ran from Monday, 24th March to Thursday, 3rd April 2025, and was held again at Macclesfield RUFC.

Approximately 900 Year 6 children (10-11-Year-Olds) from 28 local primary schools across the borough took part in safety education sessions with Cheshire Police, CGL – Cheshire East (YP’s Substance Misuse Service)Peaks & Plains Housing Trust, Ansa Environmental Services and British Transport Police/Network Rail.

The event taught children about important issues that are often overlooked by the curriculum, such as personal safety, Internet safety, drug & alcohol awareness, anti-social behaviour, sustainable and creative environmental services, railway safety and crime & consequences.

Our VIP Day was Wednesday, 2nd April, when we were pleased to welcome the Deputy Mayor of Macclesfield, Cllr Emma Gilman, and pupils from Handforth Grange Primary School and Mottram St Andrew Primary Academy.

Thanks as always to everyone who worked so hard to make the event a great success. Special thanks to Macclesfield Town Council for their support and Macclesfield RUFC General Manager, Andy Appleyard, and his team for making us so welcome.
