Last week saw another successful Oldham ‘Crucial Crew’ event being completed.

The event, which ran from Monday, 9th June to Wednesday, 25th June 2025 at the Mahdlo Youth Zone, saw approximately 1,500 Year 6 children, from 38 local primary schools across the borough, taking part in a series of interactive safety education and wellbeing workshops.

Thursday, 19 June 2025, saw us welcome Oldham Council’s Deputy Mayor, Cllr Brian Hobin to our VIP Day.  Also joining us on the day were Chief Inspector Ian Partington and Inspector Kat Murray, from Greater Manchester Police’s (GMP’s) local Neighbourhood and Partnerships team, Detective Inspector’s Sarah Langley and Ian Toole from GMP’s Economic Crime Unit, Inspector Pete Wilcock from British Transport Police, Mel Jones from Northern Care Alliance’s School Nursing team and Chris Wareing, Chairman of Mahdlo Youth Zone.

Our guests were able to watch while pupils from Holy Family RC and Roundthorn Primary Schools participated in a variety of activities presented by Greater Manchester Police, British Transport Police, TravelSafe Partnership, Positive Steps, Mahdlo and School Nurses.

Mahdlo, the venue for this year’s event, was provided again courtesy of courtesy of Chief Executive, Lucy Lees, and Facilities and Health & Safety Manager, Steve Aspinall – thank you!
