We’ve been having a busy time last week at our Reigate & Banstead Junior Citizen event at Surrey County Council Headquarters.

Wednesday, 7th February 2024 was our VIP Showcase Day, and we were honoured to welcome Deputy Lieutenant to the Surrey Lieutenancy, Mr Giles Verity to the event.  The Deputy Lieutenant was accompanied by Jadranka Masnec Nicholls (Business and Community Lead, Stanhope-Seta Ltd), Councillor Eddy Humphreys (Mayor of Reigate & Banstead), David Waer and Alexis Suggett, (Directors of sponsors, Cubic Transportation Systems), Sarah Brighton (CEO, Hope UK); Stuart Tautz (Operation Risk Advisor – Sussex Route, Network Rail) and Toby Willson (Head of Head of Route Safety, Health & Environment, Sussex Route, Network Rail).

Approximately 1,400 year 6 pupils attended the event, and our guests’ observed pupils from Banstead Community School as they took part in a series of workshops delivered by Hope UK, Children and Family Health Surrey (School Nurses), Network Rail, British Transport Police, GTR/Southern, Macro and the Thames Basin Heaths Partnership.

We greatly appreciate the support of our sponsors Fidelity International, AIG Life, Cubic Transportation Systems and TotalEnergies Gas & Power.

Deputy Lieutenant to the Surrey Lieutenancy, Mr Giles Verity, added:-
“On behalf of the Lord Lieutenant, I would like to express my thanks and appreciation for the work that CSM are doing in educating these young people in key safety aspects and preparing them for greater independence that secondary school offers.  It was impressive to witness the sessions yesterday, which were presented incredibly well, at all times you could see that the group were captivated and engaged by the presentations given, they all clearly absorbed the information.”
